Legal Dispute Emerges as Brad Pitt Initiates Legal Action Against Angelina Jolie

The legal wrangling between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has captured media attention, much like the tumultuous case involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Following the termination of their 12-year relationship, the couple chose to separate and pursue a divorce in September 2016.

Despite the passage of what feels like an eternity since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie parted ways, unresolved issues continue to fuel their ongoing legal battle, resulting in intriguing new revelations.

Recalling the actor's prior setback when the Supreme Court denied his custody plea, the public was abuzz with the news of his loss against his spouse. Nevertheless, the tides may turn, for in Pitt's most recent legal maneuver, just before the sale of Miraval, the vineyard they jointly acquired in 2008, he lodged a lawsuit against Angelina, alleging damage to his international business reputation.

Château Miraval, the expansive vineyard that the former couple purchased in France 14 years ago, flourished as a highly successful enterprise over the years. According to People magazine, Pitt's latest court filing in the ongoing legal clash with Jolie regarding the vineyard's sale asserts that she sought to cause harm by divesting his interests in the wine company, despite an alleged agreement never to do so without mutual consent.

Brad Pitt accuses Angelina Jolie of harming his business reputation

During a hearing at the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday, Pitt's legal team asserted that the vineyard had grown "into a multimillion-dollar global business and one of the most respected rosé producers in the world," while accusing Angelina of making "no contribution to the success of Miraval."

Furthermore, the lawyers divulged that the actress had planned to sell her portion in October to Tenute del Mondo, a company seeking control of the vineyard and indirectly owned and controlled by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who oversees the Stoli Group.

The filing also stated: "Jolie pursued and then consummated the alleged sale in secret, knowingly keeping Pitt in the dark and knowingly violating Pitt's contractual rights." However, it is essential to note that Jolie received authorization to sell her part when she filed for divorce.

The lawsuit also details Shefler's aggressive takeover bid of Miraval by attempting to access "confidential and proprietary information for the benefit of its competing company." It further describes Shefler's engagement in "ruthless business tactics and dubious professional associations," endangering the brand reputation carefully built by Pitt.

The legal team points out that "Jolie has tried to coerce Pitt into partnering with a stranger, and worse, a stranger with poisonous associations and intent." In light of these allegations, Brad Pitt is seeking damages, the specific amount of which will be determined during the trial he has requested to be heard by a jury.

Consequently, Brad is suing Jolie for breach of quasi-contract, alternatively invoking breach of implied contract, abuse of rights under article 6-1 of the Luxembourg Civil Code, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, willful interference in contractual relationships, unlawful interference with potential business relationships, and constructive trust.
