Ana de Armas Addresses Concerns About Potential Virality of Nude Scenes

Ana de Armas, the lead star of the upcoming Netflix historical drama film "Blonde," acknowledges the possibility that her n-de scenes in the movie could go viral, and she finds the idea "disgusting."

"Blonde" carries an NC-17 rating due to "some s-xual content," although it hasn't been promoting its s-xual scenes as overtly as some other films. In a recent cover story for Variety, Ana de Armas expressed her discomfort with the thought that her n-de scenes from "Blonde" might be widely circulated once the movie is released.

"I know what’s going to go viral, and it’s disgusting. It’s upsetting just to think about it. I can’t control it; you can’t really control what they do and how they take things out of context," de Armas shared. "I don’t think it gave me second thoughts; it just gave me a bad taste to think about the future of those clips."

Despite the potential for explicit content in the movie, de Armas clarified that the scenes aren't intended for titillation. "Blonde" reportedly depicts the physical and emotional violations experienced by Marilyn Monroe, the character de Armas portrays, during her relationships. The film includes scenes portraying traumatic events, such as when President John F. Kennedy coerces Monroe into oral s-x over the phone.

Ana de Armas fully committed to her role as Marilyn Monroe, working diligently to capture the star's appearance, voice, and emotions. The actress immersed herself in Monroe's persona, even undergoing voice training to mimic her breathy voice and American dialect. De Armas also aimed to convey Monroe's suppressed anger in response to adversity.

The NC-17 rating of "Blonde" has sparked curiosity about the extent of its s-xual content. De Armas, however, has noted that she has seen more explicit material than what's in the movie. She hopes that audiences will approach the film's s-xual scenes with respect for the story it aims to tell.

"Blonde" is set to premiere on Netflix on September 28th, offering a portrayal of Marilyn Monroe's life that delves into the complex emotional and personal challenges she faced.
