Jennifer Aniston criticizes online users who equate Harvey Weinstein and other celebrities on the same elevated platform.
Jennifer Aniston has recently expressed her disapproval of the prevailing culture of cancellation, asserting that she does not categorize everyone into the identical "Harvey Weinstein classification."
In a fresh interview conducted by The Wall Street Journal, the luminary from Friends conveyed, "I find myself disillusioned with the prevailing culture of cancellation."
"I probably just made myself vulnerable to cancellation by uttering that. I am grappling to grasp its true connotation," articulated the 54-year-old.
Aniston affirmed, "Is there truly no room for redemption? I remain perplexed. I refrain from grouping individuals indiscriminately into the Harvey Weinstein classification."
The actress acknowledged that she did not undergo any harassment by Weinstein, yet she did encounter several disconcerting instances with the former film producer.
"He does not embody the aura that compels one to yearn for a rendezvous with Harvey. Never. One is rather inclined to utter, 'Oh, dear, alright, let's endure it'," Aniston observed.
Recalling a particular incident, Aniston recounted when Weinstein "paid a visit to my movie set to propose a film project."
"And I do distinctly recall the decision to have someone remain within my mobile abode," Aniston admitted.
Nonetheless, Weinstein stated to the publication that Aniston "never encountered any instances that led to discomfort" in his presence.
Elsewhere within the discourse, Aniston shared her reflections on her dual roles as a producer and the lead in the Apple TV+ dramatic series, The Morning Show, in collaboration with Reese Witherspoon.
"This endeavor bears significant gravitas," she remarked.
Aniston elucidated, "Our preceding endeavors consisted of sporadic film undertakings. Thus, this stands as our maiden foray into a substantial show, one that Apple has acquired. We perceived this as a collective embarkation into uncharted waters."
"It proves gratifying to apportion a substantial share of responsibilities with an individual whom one has known for an extended duration," she appended.
Meanwhile, the third installment of The Morning Show is poised for its premiere on September 13th.
