Jesse Rutherford Faces Backlash from Billie Eilish Fans Over Controversial Track

Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford have parted ways, and now fans are directing their ire towards the latter for what appears to be a subtle jab at the pop sensation in his latest song, "POV."

Unveiled on a recent Friday, the song is a part of Rutherford's album "&ONE." In this track, the 32-year-old ostensibly alludes to their significant age difference, garnering criticism from Billie Eilish enthusiasts.

The lyrics read, "She been listening to me since 2013 (Billie was 11 then) / I know she’s got daddy issues, welcome to the family / She said, ‘Jesse, baby, won’t you write a song about me?’ / I said, ‘I got a whole album, I could drop it next week’."

In another section of the song, Rutherford sings, "Feel like Alejandro when she Gaga on my goo, I’m at the top, you’re at the bottom, It’s a different POV." This line was interpreted in relation to the time when Billie Eilish publicly acknowledged their relationship on Instagram while donning Halloween costumes in November 2022.

Supporters of the Academy Award winner took to Twitter and other platforms to lambast Jesse for seemingly mocking the mega-star. This response comes despite Billie Eilish having referred to him as her "homie forever" during an Instagram Q&A session on August 13.

The romantic liaison between Billie and Jesse came to an end in May, concluding their relationship in less than a year.
