Megan Fox has taken a stand amidst the unrest stemming from revelations about her auditions with Michael Bay during her teenage years. In response to resurfaced footage and reports, Fox has firmly stated, "I was never assaulted or preyed upon."
In a comprehensive statement shared on social media, Fox addressed the recently revived discussions surrounding her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2009. During the interview, she detailed an incident from her early career involving an audition with Bay. At the age of 15, she was filmed by Bay wearing a bikini and dancing beneath a waterfall, a test for a scene in the 2003 film "Bad Boys II" where Fox appeared as an extra in a club scene.
Criticism has been directed towards Bay for his alleged objectification of Fox, particularly her brief presence in "Bad Boys II." A commentator under the alias "liz w" led the original footage post, expressing concern over the apparent disregard for the well-being of teen girls. Furthermore, a report from 2009 in The Observer claimed that Fox had been asked to wash Bay's car as part of her "Transformers" audition, triggering additional outrage over her treatment by Bay.
Fox has now provided her perspective on the matter: "While I deeply appreciate the outpouring of support, I believe it is essential to clarify certain details."
She refuted claims that her "Transformers" audition was exploitative, clarifying that she was "19 or 20" at the time and that she was never asked to undress or perform anything inappropriate. She stated, "I was not underage during that period, and I did not participate in any activity, such as 'washing' a car, that deviated from the script."
Addressing her direct interactions with Bay and Steven Spielberg, Fox emphasized that she never felt subjected to s*xual advances. She explained, "When it comes to my personal experiences with Michael [Bay] and also Steven [Spielberg], I did not encounter any form of assault or harassment that could be construed as of a s*xual nature."
Following her appearance in the first two installments of the "Transformers" franchise, Fox was replaced after openly criticizing Bay in a magazine interview, likening him to "a nightmare to work for" and comparing his approach to that of Hitler on set. Bay attributed her departure to Spielberg, the executive producer of the series. Nonetheless, their professional relationship appeared to mend, culminating in Fox's involvement in the 2014 rendition of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
Fox acknowledged, "While these specific instances may appear minor on my journey, which has been punctuated by arduous experiences within a deeply misogynistic industry, there are other names deserving of scrutiny within cancel culture. These names remain lodged within the recesses of my heart."
In conclusion, Megan Fox has chosen to shed light on her perspective, asserting that while her journey has been marked by challenging episodes, she wishes to channel attention towards other aspects of the industry that warrant greater scrutiny.
