The acclaimed Oscar-winning actress has come forth in opposition to the aspiring presidential candidate.
Salma Hayek, a Mexican-born luminary, appears to suggest that Donald Trump deliberately propagated a narrative about her subsequent to her rejection of his proposal for a rendezvous.
Reportedly, the Republican presidential nominee endeavored to persuade Salma to partake in a social outing during her pursuit of fame within the realms of Hollywood. Supposedly, he even solicited the aid of an acquaintance to procure her telephone number.
During an interview on Radio Centro 93.9's El Show del Mandril on Friday, the Oscar-nominated actress expressed herself in Spanish. According to Buzzfeed, she recounted her interaction with Trump: “When I encountered that gentleman, I was in a committed relationship, yet he endeavored to enlist a friend's assistance in obtaining my home telephone number.
“Eventually, he managed to obtain my number, and he commenced inviting me for outings.”
Allegedly, Salma perceived Trump to be somewhat slighted when she spurned his invitations. Consequently, it is purported that he orchestrated the dissemination of a distorted narrative about her through a newspaper.
“While he refrained from openly confessing, an informant apprised the National Enquirer,” disclosed the renowned actress of "Frida."
“An undisclosed source divulged the story to the National Enquirer — I refrain from divulging the identity, as you are aware that the National Enquirer is the chosen conduit for the release of his preferred narratives. The article insinuated that he declined my company due to my stature.”
Following the publication of the fabricated story, Salma claims that Trump persisted in his attempts to establish contact. He even left a voicemail expressing his astonishment at the article's contents.
“He labored under the belief that I would acquiesce to his advances in order to dispel any speculations about his motives for declining my invitation,” Salma asserted.
The 50-year-old actress, who is betrothed to businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, humorously quipped on The Late Late Show with James Corden in August that Trump could consider borrowing her copy of "U.S. History for Dummies."
We have extended an invitation to Trump's representatives to provide a statement.
