The illustrious Colombian songstress once again finds herself embroiled in turmoil upon her return to Barcelona, facing the daunting prospect of defending her liberty in court.

While the Colombian artist endeavors to rekindle love's embers and has, indeed, been linked with several individuals, though no romantic involvement has been confirmed, she confronts a formidable predicament that may distract her from personal matters for a prolonged period.
A Court has unfurled a case against Shakira, prompted by the Prosecutor's Office, who lodged a grievance in her prior lawsuit concerning her Haciendo de Ella. In this lawsuit, she was accused of perpetrating fraud by evading taxes and failing to declare her property in the year 2018.
As proclaimed by the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia, the charges against the Latin songstress encompass two grave offenses against the Public Treasury. Consequently, she is scheduled to stand trial on November 20 at a court session in Barcelona.
Besides the aforementioned debt from 2018, Shakira stands accused of duping the Government out of a staggering sum of 14.5 million euros spanning from 2012 to 2014. According to the Prosecutor's Office, these allegations could potentially result in an arduous sentence of eight years and two months of imprisonment, accompanied by a hefty fine of 23.8 million euros.
The Tax Agency vehemently asserted that it detected irregularities in her 2018 tax settlement, thereby propelling them to escalate the matter to the Prosecutor's Office, reopening the case and complicating Shakira's circumstances. This occurred despite the artist already settling the 14.5 million euros she was obligated to pay for her debt from 2012 to 2014.
