Keanu Reeves has joined forces with British writer China Miéville to co-author a novel titled "The Book of Elsewhere." Reeves, known for his roles in films like "The Matrix," expressed excitement about the collaboration and praised Miéville for bringing a clear vision to the story.
In a statement, Reeves stated, “It was extraordinary to have the opportunity to collaborate on 'The Book of Elsewhere' with one of my favourite authors, China Miéville. China did exactly what I was hoping for – he came in with a clear architecture for the story and how he wanted to play with the world of BRZRKR, a world that I love so much. I was thrilled with his vision and feel honoured to be a part of this collaborative process.”
Notably, Reeves is set to feature in the live-action Netflix movie adaptation of BRZRKR, with an anime spin-off series also in the works at Netflix.
Miéville, known for his work in speculative fiction, shared his perspective on the collaboration, stating, “Sometimes the greatest games are those you play with other people’s toys.” He expressed his surprise and delight at Reeves' invitation to collaborate and commended Reeves for his generosity and openness to true collaboration.
“I hope readers get to experience even a fraction of the pleasure reading 'The Book of Elsewhere' that I experienced in the writing – in the serious business of play,” added Miéville.
The novel, co-authored by Keanu Reeves and China Miéville, is set to be released on July 23, published by Random House imprint Del Rey.
