Reneé Rapp, who portrays Regina George in the new musical adaptation of Mean Girls, opened up about her admiration for Rachel McAdams, the original Regina George from the 2004 comedy.
In an interview with E! News, Rapp expressed her enthusiasm for McAdams, stating, "I'm so obsessed with her. She's like, one of my favourite actors, ever. She's actually so talented, it's insane."
Highlighting McAdams' timeless career and remarkable talent, Rapp marveled at her versatility and enduring appeal. "I think to have that career, that's so, just timeless, then it's really sick and also to be like, that good-looking is insane."
Although Rapp didn't have the opportunity to meet McAdams, she expressed a strong desire to hang out with the star of The Notebook, saying, "I want it so bad."
The new Mean Girls musical features a fresh cast, with Angourie Rice as Cady Heron, Bebe Wood as Gretchen Wieners, Avantika as Karen Shetty, Auliʻi Cravalho as Janis, and Jaquel Spivey as Damian Hubbard. Notable additions to the cast include Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Jon Hamm, and Ashley Park.
Tina Fey, the original film's writer, penned the screenplay for the musical, and Tim Meadows reprises his role as Principal Duvall.
Mean Girls is set to hit theaters on January 12, bringing a new twist to the beloved teen comedy with a fresh cast and a musical adaptation.
