Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, have reportedly been ordered by the L.A. County Superior Court to pay a significant amount to a security guard following allegations of backstage assault.
According to TMZ, the couple was sued by security guard Thomas Weidenmuller, who claimed he was assaulted backstage during one of Nicki Minaj's concerts. The court ruled in favor of Weidenmuller, granting him a sum of $503,318.
The judgment was made after Weidenmuller presented medical records, including X-rays and doctor notes, as evidence in court.
In his lawsuit, Weidenmuller detailed his experience working as a security guard at Nicki Minaj's concert in Germany on March 22, 2019. He alleged that during the show, a fan breached the security barrier and jumped onto the stage, causing Nicki Minaj to become upset.
Weidenmuller claimed that he attempted to intervene when Nicki Minaj started scolding a female security guard after the concert. However, he stated that Nicki then called him to a private room backstage, where Kenneth Petty allegedly attacked him.
Describing the incident, Weidenmuller stated, "While Nicki screamed obscenities at me, Kenneth repositioned himself out of my eyesight and without warning struck me in the face, which stunned and disoriented me."
Weidenmuller further explained that he suffered a broken jaw as a result of the attack and had to undergo multiple surgeries. He currently has five plates in his jaw and is awaiting further implants as part of the reconstruction process.
Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty reportedly did not respond to the lawsuit, leading the court to issue a default judgment in favor of Weidenmuller.
The case highlights the serious consequences of alleged assault, with the court holding Nicki Minaj and her husband accountable for the incident.
