In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, Cole Sprouse opened up about a memorable encounter he and his twin brother Dylan had with Oscar-winner Matt Damon when they were just 15 years old.
Cole reminisced about the time when he and Dylan were deeply engrossed in playing the popular video game World of Warcraft during a school set day. Little did they know that they were about to meet one of Hollywood's biggest stars.
A production assistant informed them that Damon and his children were huge fans of their Disney Channel show, 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody', and wanted to pay them a visit. However, the Sprouse twins were so absorbed in their gaming session that they initially brushed off the news.
"I remember Dylan and I turning to each other and just going, ‘Ugh. I can’t believe we have to get off World of Warcraft right now,'" Cole chuckled as he recounted the moment.
Despite Damon's celebrity status, Cole and Dylan remained fixated on their screens, failing to acknowledge the esteemed actor when he arrived on set. Cole humorously admitted that while the crew members were in awe of Damon's presence, he and Dylan didn't even spare a glance in his direction.
Describing their behavior as "ridiculous," Cole explained how they exchanged casual greetings with Damon before swiftly returning their attention to the video game, oblivious to the significance of the encounter.
Reflecting on their childish indifference, Cole expressed his regret, acknowledging that they missed an opportunity to properly engage with Damon. However, he remained hopeful that if they were to meet again, he would offer a sincere apology, confident that Damon would understand.
Dylan and Cole Sprouse gained fame for their roles in 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody', which aired for three seasons from 2005 to 2008. Despite their initial obliviousness, the twins' lighthearted anecdote serves as a reminder of their humble beginnings and down-to-earth personalities in the midst of Hollywood glamour.
