Prince Harry was 'asking for trouble' by talking about William and Kate's marriage

A Royal author has said that Prince Harry was 'asking for trouble' by talking about his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton's marriage in public settings

Prince Harry was "asking for trouble" by talking about Prince William and Princess Catherine's marriage, a Royal author has said.

According to writer and author Robert Hardman, who penned new biography, The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy, the Sussexes' comments about the Waleses in their six-part Netflix docuseries and also in Harry's memoir Spare "bit deep".

"Casting any sort of doubt, I think, on your brother’s choice of wife is clearly asking for trouble," Hardman has revealed to US news outlet Us Weekly.

The author goes on: "On top of all the other breaches of trust, here was Harry making a blatant attack on Catherine. For William, this was the lowest of the low." This referred to a comment that Prince Harry made in the 2022 docuseries.

In the series, which he created with his wife Meghan Markle, Harry brazenly said that the men in his family face a "temptation or an urge to marry someone who [they are] perhaps destined to be with", which was a comment thought to be about the Waleses.

Not only did Harry touch on his brother's marriage to Kate in the docuseries, but in his 2023 memoir Spare, he wrote about his wife's relationship with his sister-in-law, and alleged they were "forced to compete". He also wrote about how Kate allegedly made Meghan cry on the day of her wedding.

Prince Harry and Princess Kate were very close when she married Prince William. When the Waleses became engaged, Harry even famously gushed: "I am delighted my brother has popped the question. It means I get a sister, which I have always wanted."

Hardman is also reported to have said to Us Weekly that Prince William is "waiting for an apology" from his brother, noting that it is "a two-way process." He is also said to have added: "you’d have to ask [William] if it’s unforgivable."

He then touched on how the Sussexes have "understandable grievances about royal life, about the way they feel they were treated, both by the institution, by Britain, by the press", with him then speaking about how he feels it didn't all need to be "put out there".

This comes after the Sussexes made a rare red carpet appearance earlier this week. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen chatting to Bob Marley's family on Tuesday when they attended the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Kingston, Jamaica.

The couple was seen smiling and holding hands on the red carpet, with the loved-up parents looking totally smitten. Although their appearance has since been branded a "calculated" one.
